This Best Roasted Chickpeas with Curry and Garam Masala recipe is made from scratch. I just open my kitchen cupboard to see what spices I liked and mixed and matched. For this recipe I chose dried chickpeas, olive oil, curry powder, garam masala, sea salt and black pepper. They turned out very deliciously good! The chickpeas are spicy and crispy! Great for snacking! And a very healthy snack!
You can buy garam masala in a jar. Garam masala is an excellent mix of spices, originally used to flavour traditional Indian dishes. Garam Masala is a great spice for adding to chickpeas.
The spices that are in Garam Masala are:
Ingredients Roasted Chickpeas with Curry and Garam Masala:
1/2 lbs or 225 grams dried #chickpeas
2 tablespoons #olive oil
1 teaspoon #curry powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
black pepper to taste
Preparations:
put the chickpeas in cooking pot and cover them with enough cold water
soak them overnight
boil the chickpeas in the water that they were soaked in for 45 minutes
drain the chickpeas
spread chickpeas on paper towel and let them dry
preheat oven to 425°F or 215°C
put dried chickpeas in a bowl
add olive oil and spices and mix gently
put chickpea mixture on rimmed baking dish that is covered with greased aluminum foil
bake in oven for around 30 minutes
stir chickpeas once after 15 minutes
make sure the chickpeas are crispy after 30 minutes, if necessary let them bake 5 minutes longer
when ready take chickpeas out of the oven and let them cool down on baking dish
move chickpeas over to serving dish(es) and eat when still warm

Tips:
add more or less of the spices to your taste!
best to eat the roasted chickpeas right away before they loose their crunchiness!
instead of cooking dried chickpeas buy a can of cooked chickpeas, rinse and dry on paper towel
