Valentine Heart Cookies

Delicious Valentine Heart Cookies!

Make these Valentine Heart Cookies for your loved ones!

For this Valentines Day I made three different Valentines Heart Cookies. I cut cookies from cookie dough:

• plain round cookies

• round cookies with a heart cut out

• plain heart cookies

Then I baked these three different cookies in oven. After baking and cooling down on a plate: I decorated the cookies with jelly. These Valentine Heart Cookies are an easy and playful way of making cookies.

How to make these Valentine Heart Cookies?

First you need to get the cooking tools and ingredients ready.

Then just follow the instructions below.

Cooking Tools:

• small mixing bowl

• large mixing bowl

• teaspoon

• tablespoon

• cutting board

• greased baking tray

• round cookie cutter*

• heart cookie cutter

• rolling pin

• oven

• microwave

Ingredients:

• 1 cup (200 gram) unsalted butter

• 1 cup (125 gram) icing sugar

• 2 1/2 cup (350 gram) flour

• 1 egg white

• pinch of salt

• 2 tsp (9 gram) vanilla sugar

• 4 tablespoons raspberry or strawberry jam

• 2 teaspoons jelly powder, raspberry or strawberry

Preparations:

• preheat oven to 400º F (200º C)

First make jelly:

• mix 2 teaspoons jelly powder and 4 tablespoons jam

• heat in microwave until hot

• set aside in refrigerator

Then make dough for the cookies:

• mix butter, icing sugar and egg white until smooth

• stir in salt and vanilla sugar

• then add flour and knead it

• set aside in the refrigerator for 1 hour

• then with rolling pin roll out pastry until it is 1/8 inch (3mm) thick

• to prevent sticking of dough to the rolling pin use some extra flour for the surface

• cut out round cookies

Make the hearts:

• place half of the cookies on cutting board and cut with cookie cutter hearts out of the middle

• then put all the cookies on a greased baking tray and put tray in preheated oven

• bake cookies for about 8 – 10 minutes

Finally make a variety of Valantine Heart Cookies:

• spread jelly on cookies without hearts and cover them with cookies with hearts cut out or plain hearts

• spread jelly on hearts

This way you will have a variety of Valentine Heart Cookies!

Waiting time: 1 hour
